shortCummins
The kit used to build this aircraft was an Eduard ProfiPACK 1:48 - Focke-Wulf Fw 190A-7 (8172) with a Montex “maxi mask” set (MM 48022 for Tamiya) used for the Balkenkreuz, swastika and aircraft markings. The kit is very well detailed however although it provides a fully detailed engine it doesn't give you the offer to open the engine panels to display it. You can display open gun bays but if you want to fully show the engine you’ll need to get one of the Brassin engine sets. Probably due to “operator error” the alignment of several parts was not as it should be and the lack of significant (if any) alignment points means that the modeller must take extra care (far more than I did) when assembling and fitting the engine. I’m reasonably happy with the results but I don’t think I’ll be building this kit again anytime soon. Here are some photo’s of the finished project… You can see the work in progress log here…http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235027548-tiger-striped-butcher-bird/& until next time as always, any suggestions or comments will be gratefully received. rgds John(shortCummins)
