Paul J
Having a rest from kits for a little bit after doing a couple 1/144 Boeings. So I thought it time to show a few more of my scans. The following were taken at Biggin Hill not sure of year but I expect someone will confirm. They are all my own work and from colour negatives/ Corsair N240CA. At the time part of OFMC. Tigercat. Not sure if it was the same one once owned by TFC. I think it was a different one. Very Skinny looking from the front wasn't it!? P-38 Lightning N505MH owned by Doug Arnold. Rarely seen. Harvard II masquerading as USN Texan. Note 3 other Harvards in background. Dutch Navy Lynx pair team. And the ill fated Mosquito in foreground RR299 juts showing. ISAACS Fury G-ASCM. Thats it for these for now.Not sure if I can find anymore from the same event.
RidgeRunner
Another nice set, Paul. I've flown in G-CTKL (marked as "69"), the T-6G owned by my friend of the time, Gavin Keegan. We flew out of North Weald, beat up Andrewsfield and flew some of the local area. I was fortunate in the another friend - since passed on - Norman Lees, took me up in his Harvard G-BDAM, also out of North Weald and in the Summer of 1992. Paul J
I met Norman Lees a couple times. Very nice chap. When I was involved with the Coolham Airfield revival back in 1994 I met him ata film show he was giving about his timr flying Wessex over Northern Ireland. The evening was rounded off by a special on B o B film and talk by Hamish Mahaddie. Met Norman again at an airshow near Thurrock wher ehe displayed the David Gilmour Mustang which he also displayed at Coolham when we held a two day event there with lots of Veterans mainly the Polish guys, including Stan Skalski no less, who flew Mustangs from the ALG. stevehnz
Nice photos, thanks Paul. It wasn't the 1983 one, it bucketed down early on that day & though it cleared it remained grey, I still loved it. Steve.
Alpha Delta 210
Some great shots from a bygone age. I like the Tigercat head on with the WW2 domestic buildings in the background. They have scanned well.
Evalman
Nice reminders of a great show. I have similar photos, the year is 1989. Incidentally the Chinook is ZD576, tragically lost in the Mull of Kintyre.

Nice memories, Paul. Did he tell you about his Falklands exploits? He was involved in some of the the rescue missions. I was lucky that knowing him well (I wrote his airline flying roster) he took me up a couple of others times when he was flying traffic spotting, both in a Partenavia P68 and Twin Squirrel. Both sorties were over London with a full radio crew on board - me in the copilot seat and them in the back. I also linked up with him at the North Weald show in the mid 1990s and at a number of North Weald "Squadron" fly-ins. Great times :). When we were both still at Dan-Air he ferried a Sea Fury from the US and on arrival in the UK he performed a very low approach and overshoot at Gatwick :). He was once a flyer in the FAAHF. I also remember when he ferried a L-39 back from Africa with his wife (Anna) in the back. Martin Edited March 11, 2018 by RidgeRunner
