elger
Hi all, I was wondering if anyone can help me with something. I was looking at Eduard's instructions for their 1/48 P-51D cockpit set and they give you some options (parts R34, R35, R36) to choose from. Does anyone have an idea which of these two options included in the instructions would be accurate for a P-51D-20-NA flown in the ETO in the first months of 1945? - Elger
72modeler
R36 is correct for a P-51D-30 and the R34/R35 is correct for a P-51D-15, P-51D-20. The fuselage panel has all of the IFF/navigation lights and the smaller panel that was relocated from the LH floorboard to underneath that switch panel was associated with the radio beacon receiver. I think that is correct, but I will need to do some more checking, so don't hold me to it. Mike Don't even ask me what the text of the placards should be....I ain't that anal about Mustangs! That being said, here's a link I just found that might be helpful for those of you working on the new Airfix kit. Looks to be pretty well researched. I hope many of you will find a useful reference. http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php/67911-OT-P-51D-Cockpit-Progression-Walk-Through Edited March 8, 2018 by 72modeler added link 2

BS_w
I found that R34(Detrola in front) was effective on airplane D-1 & D-5 and/or 44-11153/11252; 11253/12152; 13253/14052; 14053/15752; 63160/63959 and R36( Detrola on RH side) on 44-72627 & subsequent; 44-84390 & subsequent and 45-11543/11742 Edited March 8, 2018 by BS_w
