Hawker Hurricane Mk.I, Airfix 1/72

Recommended Posts

Hi folks!

This is mas last completion, the really good Airfix Hurricane Mk.I in 1/72.

Straight from the box. The only modification is that I vacuformed the sliding canopy.

I hope you like it, althought I made several mistakes and it´s not my best kit.

Best regards from Uruguay!

Ignacio

I'm in the process of building that kit as one of the 20 rag-wings Canada purchased in 1939. If mine comes out looking half as nice as yours, I'll be stoked!

Well done.

the vac canopy is a really neat touch,  did you use the kit one as a mould?

I say this as the canopy rides quite high,  the Airfix spine is too scale, and as such the canopy is too high.

Looks like you added some seatbelts as well?

Very neat job overall and a really good finish,  not over weathered.

cheers

Thanks for your comments Troy!

Yes I add seat belts to all my models!

I used the kit´s canopy as a mould. As the vacuformed plastic goes above the original part, it fits very well on the spine.

Regards.

Great job. I have the same kit in my stash, I'll use yours as a reference when I build it.

Cheers

Brilliant job Ignacio. I have almost completed my own very same model. It's interesting to see how someone else has finished it. I really like yours.

I'll post my own in RFI in a few days.

Cheers

Not your best? I’d be delighted with that - great work.

Thanks Pete!

I´m not completely satisfied with how some things ended up.

One always have "my best model so far", and this is not. I always try to improve my skills and results, and I made several mistakes on this one for being a fool...:penguin:

Maybe you can´t tell by the photos, but I know there are!

Best regards.
