Amazing paint technique...

One of the best, if not the best plastic ship models I've ever seen, is this IJN Kongo by Hyun Soo Kim

I have not seen any tutorials by him. Was wondering if anyone have a description of how such a hull paint was created?

Hyun Soo Kim has a whole fleet of incredible masterpieces. The IJN I400 is another favorite of mine. I don't have that kind of talent by far, but would still be interested in knowing the various paint and weathering techniques used

It's quite simple to achieve those effects actually.

Just invent a miniaturising machine, steal the original vessel, select the scale and press the 'on' button.

Jaw-droppingly good, aren't they?

Phenomenal. Utterly lifelike - he has an uncanny eye for weathering. Thanks for posting those pics - inspiring  and depressing simultaneously. I’d love to know how he did it but hold no realistic expectation that I can approximate that sort of finish.
