BAC 111 XX105

Building the old Airfix bac111 as the Defence research agency  aircraft with the yellow bottom using the S&M decals . The wings also have yellow panels  both top and bottom but I can't find any clear image  as to their  extent and pattern and the decal set does not have this information.

Can anyone help with the correct pattern of the yellow on the wings?

Thats great, halfway there, but I still need to confirm if the top of the wing was the same as the bottom.

Hi Selwyn

Also Linky.

That's as much as I can find.

Hope this helps a little.

This picture by Head in the Clouds shows it clearly Selwyn. Same as the bottom surfaces.

To me the yellow looks very indisitinct and blochy in this image (which i already had)  and I cant make out any straight lines,  don't know if its my computer eyesight or the quality of the print!

Hi Selwyn

I can see what you mean, but looking again I'm convinced its the same as the lower section. Just the natural metal finish on the leading edges.

I'd be happy to go with it unless something better comes along.

Will be looking forward to your build as well.

Chris.

Nice detail vid of XX105 after its repaint, note that the 'cutaway' at 3:40 is actually a photograph and clearly shows the upper wing.

This shot is handy as well, Simon Butler Flickr

Such a shame what became of this lovely little jet.

Very nice video with some nice air to air with the Harrier. Where do you find this stuff?

it stems form a casual interest in RAE, MoD (PE) etc aircraft, but too much time on my hands helps!
