Boeing 787 question

One of my current projects is Revell 788 which is likely to be finished in Norwegian colours but might alternatively appear as LOT.

I am struggling to find a photo which gives a clear view of the arrangement of the wingtip lights.  They aren't shown at all in the BM walkaround and they aren't shown clearly in the Airliner Cafe equivalent.  I've skimmed through Airliners.net etc but photographers who submit pics to these sites don't usually take close-ups of the wingtips!

Can anybody help with a photo or a link?

Thanks in anticipation

Dave,

Let me check Chapter 33 of our companies 787 IPC (Illustrated Parts Catalogue) when I go back to work tomorrow morning.

There's probably a few diagrams that may be helpful. If so, I'll ask for your email address and send them through.

Cheers.. Dave

Hi Dave,

Is this the sort of thing you're looking for?

https://www.airteamimages.com/boeing-787_N787BX_boeing_104810.html

Or maybe half way down this page

Also the second pic on this page

Hope these are of some use.

Looking forward to seeing your Dreamliner soon!

Cheers,

Ian

Thant's great Dave but please don't go to a huge amount of trouble. The photos Ian has linked answer most of my questions but if possible I'd like to know what the lights look like from above.

Thanks Ian, these are indeed most useful.

I'm quite enjoying the 788 although the engines were an interesting experience. I don't know when it will make it to RFI but it will be some time yet. The original plan was to do Norwegian but a quick look at model photos on the net showed that an awful lot of builders had the same idea!  LOT is the most likely alternative because I have a long term plan to model at least one aircraft from all European "flag carriers" and Poland isn't currently represented.

Thanks again

I don't think their "celebrity" liveries are overdone... Whichever way you decide to go, please show us the results :)

Rather than start a new thread, I’m doing a Dreamliner in British airways colours, can anyone confirm the paintwork aside from the obvious white and blue, are the wings Boeing grey with silver areas, what about the engine pylons, Boeing grey as well or white?

Wings, apart from leading edges, are white or off-white, and so are pylons. With most, if not all, skin being made of CFRP the only parts left in NM would be leading edges. Cheers

In the meatime I found a set of decals that contradict that, at least the pylon colour which is shown as grey. thanks anyway

Important lesson number one - never assume that painting guidance in decal instruction sheets is accurate.

Important lesson number two - always assume that painting guidance in kit instructions is inaccurate.

Important lesson number three - doing research is fun!
