DH.89 Dragon Rapide - Heller 1/72 - walkaround

Hi guys,

I am back with another one of my old models. This is my 102nd, built some 18 years ago. Apart from the scratch built engine, the kit has been slightly reworked: split flaps, rudder & elevators set to non neutral, wing struts & propeller blades thinned down, wiring added. The No.2 Gipsy Six is exposed and totally scratch built from spares box & photo-etched parts, pieces of plastic and copper wire. It took me less than 10 months but still too long for this type of kit/construction because I was serving as an Officer of the Greek Army at the time. Enjoy:

Hi vags,

it could be me, but all your photos are only a lot of computer language gibberish. Just check it, just in case it does not come from me. If it does, accept my appologies.

Cheers

Now that is really something special.

You should be very proud in the fact that you have the skills and patience to produce work of this artistic quality.

Most impressive and thanks for sharing.

Cheers.. Dave

Very well-done representation of what I always thought was a neat little airplane.  Any chance you remember what paints you used for the green, brown, and yellow?

Bob C.

I used Gunze Sangyo acrylics. Yellow: H329 FS13538, brown: H72 dark earth, green: H73 dark green.
