pbaudru
Hello guys, Years ago I started this nice model. As I got recently the DACO book of this aircraft I decided to continue this build adding some extra details. Landing legs where improved Refueling probe was replaces by a metal part Front wheel well was also improved Wheel tire lines were created Small parts were also improved Sanding around the wheel wells on the wings Removing these injection guides... Opening some details... Wings are glued Flap in down position....need to know if they are really down when the aircraft is on the ground More details on the legs Cheers, Pierre.

pbaudru
As I sad, with the DACO book I decided to open some panels like these two on the spine A difficult step was to close fuselage halves. The cockpit main part has not the same width as the fuselage so I had to reduce fuselage width to find a good fit. Cheers.

Generally not. The flaps were used, and selected for landings only and had two positions, fully up or fully down. They were electrically actuated so flap droop was non existent. I believe flap down was around 60 degrees, but can't find the definitive answer. They would be down for the landing, roll out and sometimes taxi back, but always seem to be retracted for parking Having said that, I have built most of my Lightnings over the years with flap down, just to add a bit of interest. Your detail and correction work is superb, beautiful clean work, really bringing the kit alive. I'm half way through a Sword T.4 build, but no where near your standards!

pbaudru
Hi guys, Sword indicates black for the cockpit color but looking at the pictures available I think the correct color would be gray. Do you know please the reference number of the correct gray I need to use ? Cheers, Pierre.
Duncan B
I believe I'm correct in saying the cockpit colour should be black for the T4 and Admiralty grey for the T5. The T birds cockpit colours followed the single seat aircraft in that the early Lightnings had black cockpits and the later marks having the grey. pbaudru
Thanks a lot Duncan ! So in order to follow the PE part color on the instrument panel I used the US Dark Ghost Grey on a black base coat. I still need to add some dark wash on the cockpit. Cheers, Pierre.
