Jon Bryon
Here's the last of my trio of GSB aircraft: Hasegawa's 1/48 Vought F4U-5 Corsair. The decals are from the kit. The paint is Mr Color 71. Some small modifications have been made: scratchbuilt exhausts, resin wheels by CMK, resin aerials, lights have been replaced with clear plastic and the pitot is from Albion Alloys tubing. More details at https://jonbryon.com/hasegawa-1-48-vought-f4u-5-corsair/. Cheers Jon

David H
Well done, Jon. I can tell you from personal experience the F4U-5 is like the Spitfire 24 of Corsairs. A far cry from the original "Birdcage" version but umistakably a Corsair. I got 3 rides in a -5N and i can tell you it was a hell of a rush. -d-

noelh
Had to wipe the drool off my keyboard before I could type this. I do love Corsairs. The impeccable finish is typical of the naval reserve at the time. Such a contrast with the scruffy operational birds. Nicely done.
noelh
Came across this YouTube video of Glenview around the time of model. Would love to go back in time to that flightline with a modern camera.
Jon Bryon
That video is fantastic - thanks for sharing! The Catalina, Harpoon and Neptune look particularly striking. If only someone made decals for them in 1/48... Jon

jeaton01
Very nice. The one in the movie (thanks for posting that) looked a bit more scruffy but I like the clean look.
