Airfix Folland Gnat T.1

Hi, guys, I just got an email from Airfix for their new Folland Gnat T.1, kit No. A02105. They offer 2 sets of markings, one for No. 4 Flying Training School in Wales, 1970. The other is for OSCAR EW-5894 of the USS Essess. In case you don't remember the latter; it's the "Aircraft Carrier" from the movie "Hot Shots", released in 1991. Someone at Airfix does have a sense of humor. No doubt markings for other users will be released in the coming weeks.

I'd love to see someone do a conversion for the single-seat Ajeet from India or for the Finnish AF version…

I don't know, other than the obvious fuselage change what else would be required, but it would be interesting to see. :tumble:

The single seaters are so different in their structural components that such a conversion would be almost a totally new kit. Fortunately a kit of these variants has been issued by Special Hobby and it's a very good kit

I'd rather buy one of these than trying to convert the Airfix T.1
