oz rb fan
i'm doing the Finnish P40m hasegawa kit,i was wondering from P40 experts, it seems the plane was painted after capture but would have the panels under the rear parts of the canopy....the kit says to paint them the same colour as the interior, but i know most were painted the exterior colour...so either the finnish colour or olive drab. thorfinn
Those quarter-panels were easily removable for either maintnance access or repainting, so the area beneath generally matched the exterior camouflage. Interpretation of b&w photos of the -M in Finnish markings isn't definitive, but suggests the area was left in the original O.D. finish.
