Help Tips for Extending Fuselage sections

Hi there all I am just making up an old Lindberg Victor Bomber Kit.

I want to make it look more like a Victor B1 and need to extend the nose area of the fuselarge by about 11.7 cm, I realise I will have to cut it and extended it. I have plenty of plasticard and milliput at the ready. But do any of you have any tips on this to make a good job of it and keep everything aligned.

Cheers Rob :)

I would do each half of the fuselage separately.

Cut nose piece off. Use something like blutac to hold parts in alignment on a board. Cut some strips of plasticard and glue to insides of parts as ribs, start with just a few, as they set hard add more to fill in the gaps between the first lots. Fill over these with layers of thin plasticard and fillers. Once one fuselage half is done do the other and check it against the first half. Once both fuselage halves are done, glue together and finish off the contouring of the infilled part
