wkennerley
Hi All, are other struggling to find fairy powerspray? I have been all over the local supermarkets and cheap stores and cannot find any? Is there any other similar cleaner that people use to remove paint? Thanks Wayne
Mike
Nope. A short Google reveals this as the first result: http://www.wilko.com/multi-purpose-cleaners/fairy-power-spray-375ml/invt/0206463
bentwaters81tfw
FPS is useless to remove paint. They changed the formula. Try Mr Muscle oven cleaner.
Black Knight
The original FPS is still available and it still works The scented version won't shift anything

Absolutely useless.
sennapod
ditto FPS useless, as is Mr Muscle Oven Cleaner (another changed formula rendering it useless for our purposes)
Rob G
If you can't get your old standby spray with the caustic cleaning action (because that's what does the work), try just buying caustic soda and making your own paint stripper. Not difficult, but it does take a little effort to be safe mixing and storing a somewhat dangerous chemical. Wear gloves and glasses, follow the instructions on the tin, use plastic or wooden bowls and stirrers (never metal) and keep out of reach of children, pets and the politically correct. Obviously you will have to soak the model in it rather than spraying a foam on, but it'll work just the same. And as always, TEST before committing a good kit. HTH. Duncan B
There is a pinned thread about paint removing products in this very section where the FPS change is discussed I believe. Duncan B
