Martian

Morning Martian - Thank you, I'm going to carry out a little tidying up later and finish the Sqn Codes I made a start yesterday but the results were less than stella.

I agree with Martian. Great work on the roundels. Brilliant stuff.:giles:

Morning Johnny - Cheers bud nothing looks like a painted on roundel than a painted on roundel. Great work on the Lanc BTW.

Hi everyone

After I'd finished adding the national insignia I went on to spray the Sqn codes. The 'PS' went on without any problems at all but I just couldn't get the letter 'B' to look right, I faffed around with them for about 30 minutes or so and committed to adding paint and.....

...the port side came out ok, however the starboard letter 'B'....

....the internal masks that made up the letter were slightly out of square, at first I thought I could live with it but the more I looked at it the worse it got. I planned to re use the mask to try it again but I still couldn't get it to look right so I took the easy way out and re sprayed it using the letter 'H' that was also in the masking set. Now I know that this will make this model totally fictitious but I just couldn't stick the way that the 'B' looked. Whilst I was at it I sprayed the fin flash and tided up the roundels I also added the couple of decals...

..so that's me for today.

Have a good one

Hi everyone

I've managed to get the turret installed and I removed all the masking from the canopies...

The turret with its masking removed...

All the glass work in place, just to see how it would look...

...And finally because the fit of the canopies was so good (I had trouble removing them) I decided to fix them permanently in place using Gator Glue in a fine bead around the rims of the canopies...

You might also of noticed  that I have started to do a little weathering. At first I was going to really go to town on this but now I've decided that less is more. I might add a little to the exhaust staining and maybe a little more to the underside once I have the under carriage finished but I'll make that call nearer the end.

Well that's me.

Cheers all

Really great.  I especially like the subtle weathering on that black finish.

Thanks mate - I just have a little more to do around the antennas, add the wire and that will be that 😀

Great work Iain

Loving those sprayed on markings!

James

Hey James - yeah spraying on the markings makes a real difference and it's so easy to do and as an added bonus once dried you can handle the model, mask over them and generally abuse them without any fear of them coming away 😎

Well the Defiant is 99.5% finished just a little more weathering and the antenna wire to go, do hopefully it will be in the RFI tomorrow 🤞

Cheers all
