huvut76g7gbbui7
These were among the photos a friend sent me about his time at RAF Sylt but they were taken at RAF Locking. I'm sorry I don't have further info. 9
71chally
Lovely shots Scimitar, Victor B.1 XA919 was there with the Radio School, so guessing that is it. Like most of the Locking training airframes it was flown into Weston-super-Mare airfield (16 May 1961) and towed across to the training school.
huvut76g7gbbui7
Found this in her history XA919 Victor B1 d/d 19/09/1957, to Locking 15/05/1961, to 7724M, to Radlett 09/1966, scrapped 07/1970 I wonder what she was used for at Radlett or was she just stored? My understanding was that it was used by HP for structural testing and then scrapped, but can't remember where the info came from.

The Javelin may be XA699 /7809M an ex 151 and 5 Squadron FAW Mk5 but as there appears to be two but it may not be. So far I haven't found the other one,(assuming that the wing in the foreground is another Javelin.) 71chally has already identified the Victor. EDIT. Just found that they had XA564 an FAW Mk1. Britman
Thank you for sharing the wonders. So many gems tucked away unseen and even worse, junked when holder has "finished " with them. Can I suggest a big push from all to get more into the public domain. Quality I think should not be an issue.
