Greg in OK
I have already announced my intent to do two 1/72 Hurricanes but I figured I might as well tell you part 2. I will try to build the Revell, 1/32 Typhoon. Ordered some replacement decals (noticed the damage on the ones I have) and I will give this beast a try as my second Group Build kit. Col.
Cool I'd forgot about this kit Greg, nice second build choice, my dad made one of these when I was little and it is an impressive model. Edited February 7, 2018 by Col.
spitfire
Now that is a golden oldie, I've built two of those and thoroughly enjoyed building them, MDC do make some nice resin goodies to update them as well. Cheers Dennis
Greg in OK
It is the car door version, it will be OOB unless I can find a few resin goodies on EBay. Greg in OK

stevej60
Excellent choice Greg, long overdue a re-release by Revell as well as the Hurricane!
Greg in OK
Started some building slowly... The wing, which I have decided to sand to mute the rivets a bit. And assemble the crankcase. Unfortunately, the engine molding is getting a bit long in the tooth and I needed a Dremel, not a X-Acto blade, to make the rear plate fit the block. An earlier molding may be fine, but mine had serious flash. Greg in OK
trickyrich
be interesting to see this one built, is a real golden oldie! One of those big Revell kits I dreamed of building as a small child! Nice to see someone else going large with there build as well.
Col.
Good to see you starting this one Gregg and hopefully the fit issues prove to be a one-off.
Corsairfoxfouruncle
Hmm I sadly don't recall ever seeing these in the U.S.. I started building in ‘79 and im sure i wouldve begged or borrowed for one. Its a shame because i would have definitely loved one. The Tiffy has been a favorite aircraft for a long time. Greg in OK
Started work on the cockpit...it is very well engineered... In retrospect I likely should have painted the seat belts BEFORE I assembled the cockpit. Live and learn. Greg in OK
Greg in OK
Pleased with the way the engine is going together... But I need to remember that not much will show when assembled. Greg in OK
Col.
Good to see you making progress with this one Greg. Are you leaving the cowling panel off to show the engine?
Rabbit Leader
So good to see this Revell classic kit on here. I can still recall the original Train Bustng boxart in an old Revell catalogue. This was my first introduction to this beast of an aircraft and I’ve grown very fond of this family of fighters ever since. Cheers... Max Headroom
I'm in for this one. Never seen one built and like others had totally forgotten about it. Maybe the moulds are lost? There are several for sale on eBay at the £25-£30 mark. https://m.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_mwBanner=1&_nkw=1+32+revell+hawker+typhoon&ul_ref=http%3A%2F%2Frover.ebay.com%2Frover%2F1%2Fnull%2F2%3Fmpre%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.ebay.co.uk%252Fulk%252Fsch%252F%253F_nkw%253D1%25252032%252520revell%252520hawker%252520typhoon%26keyword%3D1%252032%2520revell%2520hawker%2520typhoon%26crlp%3D196276713087_3237%26MT_ID%3D567786%26geo_id%3D32251%26rlsatarget%3Dkwd-316428795585%26adpos%3D1t1%26device%3Dm%26poi%3D%26loc%3D9045552%26abcId%3D1123836%26treatment_id%3D7%26srcrot%3Dnull%26rvr_id%3D1449001068319&ul_noapp=true Trevor
Greg in OK
Work on this has been slower than I would like....but the cockpit is in and being detailed. Hoping to pick up the pace. Greg in OK
Greg in OK
Pens up! Well, I consider it a valent try but I did not get the Typhoon done. Here is where I am as of this morning... two or three things slowed my down, the first being the number of times I had to find/sand/fill/sand...….. Some areas were very poor and I just got to the point where it doesn't look to bad yesterday. AND...I took 2 1/2 weeks off in England, great trip and saw a few air museums. Just Boscombe, Tangmere, Shuttleworth (opening day). Duxford (1/2 hour tailwheel instruction in a Moth), Midland Air Museum, and FAA Museum. Also Bath, Stonehenge, Old Sarum, Isle of Wight and 4 nights on a narrow boat rental. So....no building time, just inspiration time. Greg in OK In my far off distant youth I scrimped pocket money and built the Spitfire 1a, the ME109G and the Mosquito. I never had chance to build the Typhoon so please keep this one going if only to settle it for me. Edited June 6, 2018 by Jeepboy
Greg in OK
Oh I have to finish it, I was just disappointed I ran out of time on the clock. I will post it and keep everyone informed. Greg in OK
