Show us your stash!?

Very RAF prominent collections  shown.   The thing is, kits unbuilt, don't really take up space..... its the built ones I have trouble with. What do others here do with theirs? Must be some enormous 'built' stashes around!

Mine's almost exclusively RAF, 1950-80s!

I'm running out of space in the flat for built ones, but my gf has promised me a 'model plane room' when we move to the new house! It's the Nimrod and V- bombers that take up space.

Here's mine, but don't be fooled...there are a lot of vacs (all WWI) in those little bags that don't take up much space!

Now, how do I extend my life expectancy by about 40 years?

I would say i have around 200 kits in my stash ,i have just finished taking them out of the boxes ,and put them in plastic boxes .

About 5 64 lt boxes,12 of those 32lt ones ,and about 24 6 lt ones

The decals i have put in to zip lock bags and then into biscuit tins .

I have around 100 kits on the go in various stages ,some need painting other top coats .

Not going to start anymore kits until i have finished the ones already started .

Might seem a lot ,but i am a full time carer for my brother ,i don't smoke ,don't drink much ,and don't hang around with loose women (any more ) so models and books are mainly what i spend my pocket money ,i mean carers allowance on.

I have got 19 1/72 aircraft nearly finished ,all primed ,can't get up the mojo to finish them .

They are .

4 109s Airfix

Spitfire PR1X .Airfix

Hurricane MK1 Airfix

P51.Airfix

P47d x2 .Revell /Academy

MS 406 .Hobbyboss

Super Sabre .Italeri

D250 Hobbyboss

Bloch 152 Heller

Vampire .Airfix

Saab 21Heller

Fw190 Zvezda

Hawker Typhoon Airfix

F20 Tigershark Hasagawa

Curtiss P40 Airfix

They will all get finished ,someday.

Nice topic!

Always interesting, as you can often find gold nuggets, or just ideas in other's stash.

My listing shows around 90.

I mean, 90 cardboard or plastic boxes...

So it'll be difficult to show in one picture.

But if you like, give me your choice between 1 and 90, and we'll see what's inside.

Just one box!

Ooh, stash porn!  I toyed with starting a similar thread a few days ago (after seeing @Procopius's notable stash in the Failure to Failure thread).

Mine is stowed in all sorts of places, so takes several photographs to show!

It's a disease. We did this a couple of years ago, and my stash has increased since these were taken:

I'm afraid my stash has become somewhat of an embarrassment, but at my building rate, I'm good until I'm at least 140!

Like I keep telling the wife, I have a plan for each and every one ...

stash 1stash 2

stash 3

stash 4

stash 5

stash 6

... it's a sickness!

A member here,  @JohnT  I think came up with a wonderful acronym... SABLE,

Stash Accquired Beyond Life Expectancy.....

I think mines hit that,

Troy, my mate!

Yeh, and that's certainly an acronym that will start haunting me every night from this day on whenever I take a look at the stash... :undecided:

Well, my stash is now comprised of nearly 100+ kits, aircraft all of them - in 1/48th scale, which I'd use to keep grouped in an orderly fashion (ne'er liked to lie boxes upside down or on their sides), inside another large box, until I ran out of those large boxes. Then kits somehow started to come in boxes bigger and bigger (not to mention when I finally got my Aeroclub Vulcan kit), so I quit storing them in an orderly fashion, inside other boxes, and started piling them up wherever I could inside a closet.

Of course, my sheila ain't happy at all about that.

Cheers,

Unc2

After seeing Tail-Dragon's horde I don't feel nearly that sick-in-the-head.  Only slightly...if I build one a week, I'll be finished around April 2022...yikes!

It's like we all own hobby shops or something...thank the gods for GBs...they keep it pumping along.

Some of my stash was under my bed ,was searching under it one day .I found the Revell 1/32 HE219 box was damp ,one of my ****************** cats had peed on it .

That's the main reason i now have them in plastic boxes ,and i found they take up far less space ,also not being any to see a specific kit means i won't be tempted to start a

new kit ,well that is the theory .

PS ,i have noticed that some of you have more than one example of the Airfix 1/48 Buccaneer in their stash ,i think this is so unfair and they should

offer them up for sale ,not at the silly ebay prices of course .:D

Some v impressive stuff here. That supply of Klear alone represents huge ambition, which I both applaud and can only dream of. I reckon that if I showed my wife some of these pictures she would up & leave me immediately, for fear of what might happen...!

Since I am one of them... certainly not!  Nice try, though.

One will be built as an S1, and the other an S2.  Both Navy, obviously.

[Besides, I bought them on eBay in the first place]

I think I should show my Mrs Tail Dragon's post; it makes me look positively abstemious!

I wholeheartedly agree on the 1/48 Buccaneers!!! I've bid for about 12 on eBay now and every time they reach about £45 at least! Infuriating!!!
