Just a quickie.

I think the nav lights go here.

does that look right?

John.

Almost correct, I would suggest a little closer together with the one (towards the front: RED) being under what would have been the H2S housing, hence why it had the clear portion at its trailing edge  . . .

You were right to re-spray the undercarriage legs, it would have been a shame to have spoilt the assemblies after all the work you have put into them.

Hi Johnny

You are right it was the closest school.  Good luck with the hunt for the Landy.

It can take time to find the right vehicle.   I was lucky with the hunt for my classic VW when I bought her. The type I wanted an early Fastback rarely come up for sale but one appeared when I was looking and so I immediately made the journey to Norfolk and purchased. Very happy with her ever since.

The U/C legs look amazing fella. This is going to be an amazing model.

Keep up the good work.

All the best

Chris

Glad you ended up with the right motor. :)

and thanks for the kind words.

Thanks Ian. I’ll be pinching your idea to make the lights. Or I might use thinner plastic not sure yet. It looks from that drawing that the radar covered two of the lights. I’ll wait for @isaneng to send a pic over. Soooo lucky to have him onboard for this one.:hobbyhorse:

Morning Johnny.

I'm due to fly her on Tuesday. If you can wait until then, I will photograph the lights and window for you.

Cheers, R

Yes please! That would be awesome. :worthy:

And good luck.

Good evening chaps.  I’m back from a lovely weekend away here.

39516861450_43e0955598_b.jpg

a birthday treat from my beautiful wife.

39516859990_a12dc61593_b.jpg

to watch Jarvis Cocker in a cave in Castleton.

41283719962_e0e8e623ac_b.jpg

pretty awesome!!!!  No kids, no dog. I can’t remember the last time we went away, just the two of us. It was lovely. Any way the point is while we were having a cheeky pint or three yesterday afternoon I glanced across and saw this.

41326574671_b3c74e9717_b.jpg

I can’t get away from it can I. :christmas: It was at this point that I decided that I wanted to get those bloody windows done on the Lanc before my birthday tomorrow. So having a spare hour or two after getting home today I threw caution to the wind and did this.

41283722142_c85612a7a2_b.jpg

And to the other side.

26454699517_03cb3a39ed_b.jpg

After a whole bunch of cutting and sanding I got a window shape.

41326576761_202cdb927d_b.jpg

i used this to make a tape template.

you can just about see it here.

26454702097_9f2f757b27_b.jpg

I cut out some windows and sanded them to fit. It seems as though Tamiya green top doesn’t fog this type of plastic so running a bit around the edge created a seal.

Here’s the other side.

26454698667_2cc0a66bc5_b.jpg

a little dusty but I’ll sort that when it’s dry.

here are both sides from the inside.

nice!! :penguin: I’m super happy with that. The niggle that was there has now gone. I can move forward happily in the knowledge that I’m actually doing everything I can to make this right.  Ok then I need to get some sleep. Back to work tomorrow.

I’ll probably not get anything done on the Lanc on Monday but I’m looking forward to the next few steps.

Thanks for dropping by and as always.

Happy Modelling.

Happy birthday, Johnny.

If you were in Castleton, then you were very near Derwent reservoir, where 617 practiced their attack runs for Chastise.

Yes indeed. Our room was named “Derwent”

The Lanc is looking fantastic, the attention to detail is fantastic. Far better than my "Good enough for Government work" approach.

Belated Birthday greetings, great choice of venue for the concert. My wife & I honeymooned in Castleton there in winter 2000, great walks along Mam Tor in the snow & some great pubs. One of our favourite places.

Enjoying your build from the back.

The level of detailing on the inside is a delight. The undercarriage ain't bad either. You certainly deserve to be happy with how adding those windows has turned out.

Excellent stuff.

I see that there's been some consummate Spadgentrification in progress whilst I was away and I must say that feast of structure and colour has been a delight to catch up on Johnny.

Have you seen Mr. Forkasiewicz's digital works for inspiration btw?

TerrifyingBeauty47.jpg

The level of details on his Lancs, why they're almost legendary Spadgentary!

Great work fella. Keep it coming.
