Macchi 205 Serie III. hasegawa 1/48th

Recommended Posts

Hi folks. This is my latest built, a Macchi 205 Serie III from the 2a squadriglia, 1° Gruppo Caccia A.N.R. Campoformido in 44. A lot of work on details mainly were necessary to get a correct 205! To me one of the best looking kite of WWII! Best regards.

That's a handsome looking model and you have done an excellent camo job, well done. I am quite surprised that none of the mainstream manufacturers (Revell, Has, Tamiya etc) have ever attempted a (serious and current industry standard) 1/32 Macchi 205 as with all those attractive camo schemes, I'm sure it would do well and be a welcome relief from P-51s and 109 every letter in the alphabet !

Beautiful job and a great paint job, the MC205 is one of my favourites, I have built a 21st Century 1/32 scale kit of one and have a PCM kit in the stash but as Gary has said it would be nice if one of the mainstream manufacturers would pay some attention to Italian WW2 subjects.

Cheers

Thanks a lot! And I totally agree: it's time for a state of the art Macchi 200/202/205! The Italeri MC 200 is crappy, and the Hasegawa is now getting old!

Certainly one of the most attractive WWII fighters, clearly showing her pedigree from the Macchi Schneider cup racers.

Beautifully built and finished – I assume the smoke rings are freehand airbrushed?

Impressed over here…

Kind regards,

Joachim
