RidgeRunner
Mmmm .... not sure about that, Tony. I’m sure i read that some returned to Iran and were even seen in a flypast ceremony? SJ - give us a ruling! Martin
Tony Edmundson
Never have I read that Canadair Sabre 6s were returned to Iran and operated. I'll awaited further reference from more learned sources. Cheers, Tony
DennisTheBear
Beautifully done Sabre! The sort of thing that I'd like to do but never get around to. DennisTheBear
Sabrejet
Iran operated around 52 F-86Fs, independently of the Canadair Sabre 6s which went from the Luftwaffe through Iran to Pakistan. But some (by no means all) of the Pakistan AF Sabre 6s were returned to Iran temporarily but I can't recall why. I have a file on this in the garage and will hook it out this weekend. I do remember a British Embassy Air Attache's report that stated the return of some also.

Tony Edmundson
So they fooled the Indian officials into thinking the aircraft didn't go to Pakistan. Any evidence the returned aircraft served with Iran after this ruse. The photo shows the German camo and aircraft number still visible, so very early in the story. Natter
The camo and markings really bring the model to life. As already noted, far more interesting than the usual NMF.

Colin1967
What a colourful and beautifully finished model, makes such a difference seeing one in camo, you can see that the addition of the Pavla ejector seat has made that difference. My congratulations
S. Uehlinger
If I am not mistaken, Iran sent some of its F-86s to Africa as part of the UN involvement in the Congo Crisis in 1961......
SAT69
I couldn't see the pictures here, for some reason, and went back to the build thread to see. From that I can tell you, you've built a beautiful Sabre. That's a project I'd like to try! Edited May 1, 2020 by SAT69 Punctuation error
