bootneck
I had seen that also, but it is a future item with no date when available in the shops yet. Mike
Kingsman
That's not a bad price compared to, say, the old Hasegawa K5E and the few resin railguns available. The one they've chosen - at least from the photo - is a unique gun called Boche Buster, 18" ordnance taken from store and mounted on a carriage originally mounting a 14" weapon. These guns only had a range of about 12 miles, so this one was an anti-invasion weapon and not useful for cross-channel bombardment. Completed too late for WW1 and never fired in anger in WW2. The gun - but not the carriage - is the same as the one variously displayed at Larkhill, Fort Nelson and the Dutch Railway Museum. I don't know Oxford's rail products, but their trackside vehicles are pretty good for that scale - accepting the limitations of moulding and die-casting. Looking at photos of their Warwell wagons, these seem to be very highly detailed. A gun on the move would have quite a train of support wagons - and need a big mantelpiece!
