All finished!
Nice "little" build.
Weathering finished off with AK Interactive pigments. Still getting the hang of them, but getting better.
Mainly painted with Hataka Orange Line paints.
Set off on a Coastal Kits Display Base.

Looks great! How did the Hataka paints behave? What airbrush, pressure, thinner/paint ratio did you use? I have an RAF set that I plan on using so any info would be helpful! Thanks!

Rich

Hi Rich

Thank you.

I get on well with Hataka paints. They do require some patience, and a bit more work than most paints, but the results are worth it.

The set you have, is it Red Line (acrylic), or Orange Line (lacquer)?

Red Line mix 60:40, in favour of thinner, plus some flow improver. Best to use their own acrylic thinner.

Orange Line mix 50:50 with Hataka's lacquer thinners. There's no need to use flow improver here.

My airbrush is a H&S Infinity, usually with a 0.4mm needle for most work.

With both types of paints, I usually use about 15psi.

The trick with Hataka is to build up the colour, with several light coats. This gives you flexibility to get the depth of colour you want.

Hope this is of help.

Any other questions on Hataka, feel free to ask.

Cheers

Ian

Glynn

Hi Glynn

I did the weathering with AK Interactive pigment powders.

Very nice results, was the weathering done panel by panel?

Yes, each panel separately.

Even the glass seal is brilliant, great work

The canopy seals are a decal set from Furball. Meant for the AMK kit, but with a sharp knife and some care, the look the part. Used a bit smoke pigment, just to tone them down a bit.

Thank thank you all for the compliments.

Thank you for the information Ian.  Your application technique sounds just like how I apply MRP paint (my current favorite). I have the orange line and the Hataka thinners so I will give them a try! Thanks again!
