LaurieS
Looked everywhere without a satisfactory answer. There are two colours. One on the top parts the other the underside parts. I use Tamiya normally. But being restricted any help in other manufacturers much appreciated. Laurie
Des
Tornado GR.4 two greys colour scheme was originally Dark Sea Grey over Dark Camouflage Grey - http://www.imagebam.com/image/abcfa524347275 - but a later overall Medium Sea Grey colour scheme was introduced across the fleet and at times some aircraft were to be found with panels in all three shades and various mixes in between. Best to find the aircraft you intending to model to see if it is in the dual or single grey scheme and if there are any obvious panels that are exceptions to the general rule. IPMS Stockholm a good place to get model paint comparisons - http://www.ipmsstockholm.org/colorcharts/stuff_eng_colorcharts_uk.htm

Julien
If you want to see the tonal differences between the panels, and how grubby they got on operations then our walkaround of one in a shelter at Kandahar is recommended; http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234971017-panavia-tornado-gr4-zd843-operational-kandahar-afghanistan/
LaurieS
Julien that is a fabulous set of pictures. I have built all the Afghanistan aircraft helicopters etc and the Tornado is the last for my large diorama. This is, without doubt, the best photo info. that I have found showing the state the aircraft get into in Afghanistan. Absolutely perfect for when I get to the effects side. Thanks very much for posting. Very much appreciated. Laurie Edited January 28, 2018 by LaurieS

LaurieS
I have to state that rather selfishly I did not think of submitting. I took a string of photos of a Sea Lynx which I will sort out and publish. Thanks again Julian Edited January 28, 2018 by LaurieS
