Thinned Humbrol 30, Dark Green, applied by flat brush: I've now got to do the same basic weathering on these areas as I did on the Dark Earth areas. Comments and suggestions welcome. Kind regards, Stix

You mean like a duck swimming?..........there's actually a lot of paddling and splashing about under the water....... As I mentioned to Steve above, I've been weathering in the green areas of the camo - these areas were first given a very thinned wash of Revell's Gunship Grey followed by a targeted wash, in and around the details. Finally I gave these areas a dry-brushing - first with Humbrol 116 and then one of a slightly lightened version of the same. The result can be seen below: The side skirts, etc. painted with thinned Revell's Anthracite and decals starting to be applied: Once the above stages were completed I started to glue on the remaining parts - the commander's cupola, the rear turret basket, spade, etc.: I also did some more touches of weathering, including on the side skirts: It's a good job the turret moves really easily so the detail below it can be seen: Once I decided I had done most of the weathering and added all the details - I got the upper and lower hulls glued together - and then it was time to check it looked vaguely like the box art: ....you can also see in the photo above that I added the aerials which I made from stretched sprue. Fairly late on I decided to add something which was missing from the kit. Before this GB I knew nothing about this tank (and, to be fair, not much more now) so I spent a lot of time looking at photos and videos. The mesh missing from inside of the turret basket was one thing that bugged me, the missing aerials was another and finally I decided I couldn't manage with the missing grills over the headlights. The ones I made from some scrap PE mesh aren't completely accurate but I'm happier with them than I would have been with just the gaping apertures: Finally, for now, I started work painting the commander figure: So the actual tank is complete and I have taken some photos which I will try and get posted in the gallery soon. Comments and suggestions welcome. Kind regards, Stix

I tried my best but it's not a perfect match. And yes, Tamiya have given him a bit a a grumpy expression. On 05/04/2018 at 12:40, MarkSH said: Really great brush work throughout!
