New Airfix 1/72 Me262a and Old Version

Recommended Posts

This is the new version of the Me262.  It is beautifully detailed.  The decals are excellent and the fit is precise, but some filler was needed on mine in the usual places, namely the wing-engine mounting joins, and the bottom seam when the fuselage and wing join.  The detail is very nice, especially on the bottom. Next to it is the much taller 1960 version.

Very nicely done. Interesting looking at the old and new together. To be honest there isn’t a huge difference, although the new kits looks better proportioned some how. I think I’d have to see side by side close ups.

Both your builds are superb though.

Lovely Schwalbe!

Has to be one of the greatest fighter aircraft of all time! In terms of engineering, it's a shame the design wasn't given quality the resources and development it needed. In terms of history, I'm very glad the fighter wasn't more effective!
