Tamiya 1/48 Beaufighter Mk X

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I recently completed this beaut of a kit :D I had no problems whatsoever with the kit and throughly enjoyed the build :)

Masked and sprayed the stripes as I didn't feel like risking it with the decals

Used the pilots to fill the seats because I feel the decal seatbelts looks a bit flat

Constructive criticism very much welcome! :D

Cracking job!:goodjob:

Good choice on painting the stripes. Tried them out, then binned and masked on my one of these. Must finish it off at some point...

Love the handlebar!

A right beauty. The weathering is great.

If you should ever do another one, just remember that the central gear casing on wartime Bristol engines were painted a semi-gloss black. Also, the propeller hub was also painted black, or sometimes a squadron colour.

Very nice. I built one of these as an Australian Mk 21 in overall foliage green over 10 years ago. Still one of my favourites on the shelf.

Thanks Simon! :)

What a lovely build. Well done with the invasion stripes. The decals usually give me grief as well.

Thanks!, I don't think I've ever had good experiences with decal stripes

Was the driver's 'tache Milliput or paint?

Thanks! To answer your question, the 'tache was paint :)

Thanks for the advice Chris, I've currently got an Airfix 1/72 Beau on the workbench at the moment :)
