Troy Smith
while looking for images for comparisons shots for the Trumpeter Firefly test shots, I noticed in photos there are small opening panels by the ailerons, which I not noticed before, ah, I have managed to answer my own question, evidently slots for the wing fold support arms fascinating photo for the amount of manpower for the wing folding operation, be one to tax the diorama maker! not shown on the cutaway below though hope of interest T
Corsairfoxfouruncle
Actually I think its listed as #62 on the cutaway drawing. #62 - Retracting wing tie. I blew up the photo out of curiosity. Agreed its not easy to see on the photo. You have to imagine as if you are looking through the aircraft. 1
Britman
Interesting amount of manhandling on the movable flying surfaces. I was always told pushing on elevator, rudder and aeleron was a no no.
cngaero
That's certainly an interesting photo. Judging by the amount of manhandling of the ailerons, could they be a form of aileron control lock to facilitate the manual folding of the wings? Aeronut
Look at the two aircraft parked forward in the wing folding photo. The hatch appears to uncover the fixing point for the jury strut.
