RidgeRunner
You are bang on there, Paul. I remember being down rhe old brighton road gate, near the old tower, and KKA was parked there for a while. It was a great place for Herks, wasn’t it! I remember Canadians, Saudis, Iranian, Nigerians, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, Yemen, Sudan, Filipino (rp-100), Algerian, Portuguese, Italian, Peruvian, and many more Martin Edited January 7, 2018 by RidgeRunner

I have some poor quality slides of all 6 or so An -26. I recall they all came through one winter.. About 1978 I could be wrong. Maybe earlier. I will sort out the slide scans for these most certainly. Definitely recall the Iranian C-130 and most of the others you mention like the Canadian ones, Saudi and Sudan ones but not the others. I also recall Israeli C-97 with swing tail a couple times, Israel C-47, and Danish RCAF ones too. Other Military ones were most of the RAF transports, And RCAF CC-109, CC-137, CC-*** Falcon 20, Bristol Freighter, As for Russian stuff, the Tupolevs and Ilyushins too operated by various Eastern Bloc countries. And an Aeroflot yak -40. I have pics of most of these except RAF types and will post these soonish once I have sorted out a few.
RidgeRunner
Mmmmm ..... Now I think it is clear that you were spotting a year or two before me. I started out very occasionally in the mid 1960s. I have memories of the APSA DC-8 on Sunday's, the many SAM DC-6s and more. I also have a vivid memory of walking the spectators area and parked on the middle ramp (I think) was a RCN Tracker '1540'(?). Yes, the Cuban AN-26s were in 1978. Your memory of the Cc-109s etc are good too. I'll out some scans too Martin

tonyot
Blocks, water tower and cookhouse chimney all look like Brize to me,.....nice pic. Think that the building under the tail is the NAAFI Spotlight Club. Guessing that the pic was taken over the other side of the runway to the blocks etc,....near to the old 101 Sqn site or JATE? Cheers Tony Edited January 6, 2018 by tonyot
