Paul J
Trying out new photo host with these scans from negative films. Taken on my Kodak Instamatic 126 cartridge film Me setting off in back seat of WK577/V. Monday morning July 20th 1969. One of my squadron mates just about to exit WP970. Would like to know the unit if anyone out there can help. Note the glider tug attachment by the tail wheel! Ruddeless Vulcan An ealy one I recall so maybe a B.1A???? Lancaster R5868 on the gate. Yours truly by one of thos e big bombs!! And the nose of R5868. The next time I became acquainted with R5868 was at Bicester 1971! It was in sections in one of the hangars. Had the freedom to crawl all around the fuselage ... pilots seat, turret, bomb aimers position etc... In store there with around 7 Spitfires!!!

canberraman
Paul In answer to tour query about the operators of Chipmunk WP970, it seems to have been 12 AEF from Edinburgh Turnhouse. There is a picture of this craft in 1967 at the link beneath. https://abpic.co.uk/pictures/view/1386840 Mark

When I saw it at Scampton it was in overrall Light Aircraft grey and dayglo. But many thanks for your help. It seems when I went on these ATC camps, Chipmunks from other areas were on their summer camps. An example being the Church Fenton Chippies were at Bicester when I went there in '71.
