Sairou
After the pleasant interlude that the Autoblinda provided, it's back onto German stuff. Next up is this nice little kit by Tamiya, with the tarp being a resin piece from Mig.
colin
That replacement tarp looks to have some nice drapped detail on it

I intend to use oil paints, blending them over a modulated Khaki base.

Thank God for weekends, I say- I tend to build models whenever I have spare time, and aim to get the airbrush out and painting done over Saturday. Sairou
The glass still needs a bit more work, but I anticipated these issues.
Redcoat2966
I'm hoping my time will free up more so in the future. Having to take care of a lot of issues from the past.......then I'll be able to do more per week.....Once I get the airbrush and compressor, that should be better too.  That canvas cover is a cracking piece. Very realistic. Every-time I see this truck design, I always think of Kelly's Heroes and 16 mil in gold.......  Have good day mate  Simon.
FrancisGL
As the comrades have said, the canvas is a luxury, very well made, it really looks real ... Cheers mate
Sairou
Thanks all. Took some photos with my new lightbox. Definitely need to iron out the creases, quite literally, the backdrop is wrinkly. Edited December 13, 2017 by Sairou

Sairou
Begun weathering, starting with paint chipping.
Badder
Great work on the tarp. How long are you leaving the oils to dry? Â Rearguards, Badder

What oils? So far the tarp has been done using an airbrush with a few different colours of tan/hemp/sand, highlighting and such, followed by a pin wash and ultramatte varnish. I plan on adding some oils later on in the weathering process.

Rearguards, Badder I usually leave them to dry for around a day or longer, which tends to do the trick. I make sure not to handle the painted areas roughly, though.
