Is it possible to trace An aircraft history from its serial number ?

In times like this it is surprising what you can find on the net just using google. As this aircraft was used by the Belgian Air Force google gives you this if you then goolge by the Belgian serial;

000000: probably used for spares at Le Bourget

That's perfect thanks, unfortunately it proves that it was with 10 squadron during its time south east Asian command, not a the time of the Berlin airlift. Oh well back to the drawing board.
