longshanks
Confession Time ..... I have spent the last three weeks lounging in the sun. Dirty job but someone has to do it. The difference this time is I took some modelling gear with me so I was able to potter on. One of the reasons I left the sails unfinished, I still want to tweak them - a bit much to take the printer with me. View from the terrace, the view is slightly better than the view from the shed. Stanchions and capping rail completed Rudder. Some paint applied to get an idea how its going to look Enough swanning around, time to knuckle down and crack on Thanks for stopping by Kev Edited January 29, 2018 by longshanks
Dads203
I have to agree, the view does look a tad better than the view from your shed mate, mind you the view of the lugger is awesome though

longshanks
Martian the pain Helpful I'm thinking more of an octopus behind bars the ribs with the tentacles reaching out begging forgiveness....... Remind you of anyone? Glad to see you're getting back to your playful self, it's been way to quiet around here Kev 1

Hewy
That veiw beats the dreary the rain soaked vista from of my window, you jammy sod, 3 weeks, you may have gone stir crazy if you'd not have packed meagre modelling rations for the duration of you internment, still looks like you put your time in the sun to good use, they're coming along very well Glynn

(Here's hoping}. Takes time for the paint to dry so ............ I started playing with the base for the wreck Using wall insulation board, PVA seems to stick it. Note to self don't use CA glue, I'm fairly sure that smoke coming from the foam is not a good thing ?? Rocks and beach covered with a watery tile grout. Rocks textured using a scouring pad Test fit Base coat applied to sand and rocks It will be going in the same type of box frame as used on Clyde Puffer, though a little deeper Thanks for looking in Kev

Dads203
Like where you are going with the base Kev, a bit of marine life on the rocks and it will look just like the beach down at Godrevy Deffo not Portreath as not enough turds laying on the sand though.

stevehnz
This was a good catch up, some great progress & scenic views as a bonus, whereabouts were you Kev? I hope the natives there were more respectful than the natives here. Steve.
longshanks
Thanks Steve Location Puerto Santiago, Tenerife. We have family and friends there so we tend to be quite often. In fact we'd been there two days when some friends asked if we would house sit for two weeks whilst they are in England later in the year. We of course declined - NOT. So I've left modelling tools out there, no one told me retirement was going to be hell. The only thing most of the natives on here are lacking is the Sun. stevehnz
Thanks Kev, that looks rather nice, not too big, madding crowds under control. Much as I love where I live, I do at times envy you guys your proximity to more exotic locations like that. Can't have it all ways I guess. Enjoy. Martian
Awesome rocks, they look just like err, rocks. Some seaweed and marine life, crabs, shrimps, anemones etc. should set it all of nicely. A faded registration number and name on the hull would look good too. Martian (Just escaped from the naughty corner)
