Hi Folks,

here's my Wildcat. With thanks to the guys over on this thread: http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235025518-wildcat-v-colour-conundrum/&tab=comments#comment-2797901

It's the Tamiya kit with the outer wing guns sanded and removed. Eduard seat belts added and sprayed with my interpretation of ANA colours 610, 603 and 613 using Xtracrylix over a black base with some light YZC chipping. Self made masks were used for markings and just some decals from the spare box. After glossing I used some Winsor and Newton oil paint for washes. I went with the sky undersides as it seems alot of colour photos showed it rather than the light grey which may have been used.

The aircraft was based on HMS Atheling for a short period whilst Op Councillor was conducted in the Indian Ocean on June 10th 1944. Although, not really much happened other than to show escort carriers working alongside fleet carriers didn't really work due to the slower speed of the escort carrier.

Thanks guys, it's a lovely little kit by Tamiya. Perhaps next time I'll opt for a Martlet MkII or IV which require a little bit more work. I have noticed one thing I left out which is a very quick job and that is the small aerial present on the underside which most FAA fighters operating in the Indian Ocean and Pacific gained- its' either IFF or VHF aerial.

What TOT said, and he should know, as he's done a ton of them! Very nice build, Nick, and a great choice of schemes!
