I’m afraid that I can’t offer any suggestions to your query. However, I can say that you’ve done a fantastic job on this build.

LI have this same kit in my stash and will be building later this year. I also have the Revell 1/48 GR4 which I will build first so I learn the pitfalls of the kit so as to build the F.3 better and hopefully somewhere at least near as good as your build :)

Hi colonel,

Thanks for your comments.

The kit is quite simple provided you don't believe what the instructions say.

1) build the rear fuselage : sides, walls, intakes, wheel wells.

2) build the air intakes (you'll need putty) and glue them to the rear fuselage;

3) Remove the rails on the flat belly part from the nose to the front wheel well.

4) assemble the front fuselage (cockpit and sides), and slide it on the rails.

5) Yay.

If you want to build the flaps down, the instruction are wrong (the bits that connect the flaps to the wings should be swapped between the sides, ie use 106 where you're told to use 108 and 108 where you're told to use 106).

Cheers,

S.

Sebastien,

thanks for the assembly order, I've copied it down for reference for when I start mine.

I have strictly no merit about this assembly order.

You should thank Shaun who told me what to do.

Cheers,

Just come onto this build. looking good.

Suppose its a bit late to tell you the red bands on the skyflash should actually be brown?

(Who notices these things!)

Aw, censored quote from Hellboy.

A bit late, yes. I'll try and correct that, but...

But thanks for the tip (I used Revell decals, so be warned, people).

Cheers,

I’m a bit new to all of this so I may be wrong, but isn’t a brown band for a live rocket and red for a live warhead. So there should be both bands or does the Skyflash only have the one?

Brown band : live rocket

Yellow band : live warhead.

Sebastien, did you manage to completely get rid of the seams in the intakes?

Hi Jens,

Do you mean inside or around?

Inside, no. Around, yes.

I almost  haven't used putty on this kit, which is a bit of an oddity on my modelling bench.

I know.

Related to your Anigrand stash, mostly, I presume?

And beside, you've a taste for single malt.

A case of double personnality, certainly.

Big vacs, interesting subjects, entertaining builds.

Check Tom Probert's and Darius Aibara's builds.

They're awesome (the builds. And the guys).

Cheers,

There's this Whitley VII...

And those Japanese birds.

And not expensive at all.

Why not, after all?

Well, sanity is so 20th century...

Go for it!

I'll deny any involvement.
