Natter
Hello All, not my finest hour, but it is on the shelf and not in the box. Matchbox's 1/72 Piston Provost in Irish Aer Corps colours, another Irish Aer Corps aircraft for the collection. This was complete a couple of months ago but I have only just got around to photographing it. The model has an instrument panel, internal cockpit framework and control columns scratchbuilt, but only the Tamiya tape seatbelts can really be seen through the thick clear plastic of the canopy. The engine cowling outlets have been thined, 'little lenses' landing lights added to the undercarriage legs along with lead wire brake pipes and bare metal foil oleos, and a fine wire aerial was added to the fuselage. Navigation lights are clear sprue added, shaped and polished before Tamiya clear red and green provided the colour. The exhaust is a piece of Albion Alloys tube and the venturi was reshaped and drilled at each end to make it alittle more convincing than it looked OOB. Decals are from a Max Decals sheet.
