VG 33
Hi Just before many 1/72 Phantom are about to flood our shelves I have just finished this Fujimi Phantom FGR.2 in grey-green camouflage. It was an easy kit to build even if the level of details is basic in the cockpit. That is the reason why I prefered closing the canopy. I have been inspired by a picture in the book RAF Phantom from Peter Foster and this is the Phantom FGR.2 XV497 #A of No 19 squadron in August 1983, a climax year in the Cold War. Transfers are coming from different Xtracolour sheets. I hace still in my stash another box of this kit but I am looking forward for the FAA Airfix one to come. cngaero
That's a great looking Phantom. It's certainly a powerful looking beast and you've captured the purposeful stance of the aircraft well. I really like the subtle underside weathering. Thanks for sharing it here.

Blackfordhibby
Yes! I like this one, grey and green with odd tanks. Just doesn't get any better. Peter

72modeler
Patrick, a phabulous Phantom! My very favorite version and scheme, too! The Fujimi kit has nothing to be ashamed of, that's for sure- it was the 1st 1/72 Spey-powered F-4 to be accurate, IIRC, and until the Airfix kit comes out, is still the one to beat! Very restrained weathering an streaking, as well. Well done, Patrick! Mike

VG 33
Hi Thank you for your comments. I could tell that the exhausts have a diameter too small but I cannot change that. Patrick

Great Phantom model mate. Spot on comment Phone Phixer....... Cue: '19(F) in the bar tonight, a little bit loud, a little bit tight......' or even a bit of 'The flag flies high at the masthead.....' When we young and in our prime eh Phantom Phixer, when we were young and in our prime. 1
