Agreed the police reaction is pathetic. Imagine the horrible carnage if they lost control at all of four miles an hour. I presume Lincoln is the safest town in Britain. They obviously don't allow cars anywhere near the place.

I watched this and was quite impressed.

I haven't been to Lincoln in a long time but having worked in North Linc's. for a while last/this year I get the impression that the police there are fairly inept.

The Police wouldn't allow it down the High Street because 11th November is a busy shopping day. Decide for yourself which is the most important, shopping or armistice day. Then again the tank may well have been an attraction, to many people in a confined area with a tank is a dangerous mix.

Great program, I always like Guy Martin.

Great watch,  the tank looked a bit thinner than I thought it would ? Must be the effect of too many Hollywood productions making every tank as wide as a Tiger.

Agree with previous posters, decisions of police do not show Lincoln in a favourable light.  On the other hand, full credit to JCB for participating in the endevour.

Maybe a better solution would've been to move it to position early in the morning and then have a start up and a small backward and forward movement within barriers.

Seems to have been a bit of a cop out to have it at Cambrai, a worthy place of course but certainly not the exposure, hope JCB got some deserved credit for this too, couldn't have been cheap to do the work.

Guy is ok to watch, but would love to have Fred Dibnah still with us to do it, would've been very interesting to see those 2 meet lol

I believe it was a council decision.

It might have damaged their nice new pedestrian area's.

(The ones which have further added to Lincolns traffic chaos)

Never heard of this fellow 'til he was mentioned here, so I had to watch the preview since I can't get the show just yet.

What? He builds odd things and drives them around then?

Nice muttonchops btw.

Understand him?

Oh yeah, easy. You should hear someone from Alabama or Louisianna talk.

He does seem a bit... um..excitable? Enthusiastic maybe,  doesn't he?

This is good stuff!  I'm gonna have to see the tank epsisode.

You know I DO have models I'm supposed to be working on....

So put a TV in the model room and crack on, young man!

(Even I have to listen carefully to catch everything he says!)

(snipped for brevity!)

That'll be the Asperger's Syndrome then! . . .

He's quite the character and a TV star without trying. Very much like Fred Dibnah. Seems to be able to turn his hand to anything.

Once you've tuned into his accent it's easy.

Some very interesting documentaries. The Vulcan springs to mind.

Well.

That was brilliant.  I like this chap. I suppose now I shall have to see what else he's done.

Ooh! Vulcan bomber!

Thinking a bit, I had heard of him in passing.  I suspect it must have been the Isle of Man motorcycle crash.
