canberraman
Last month I was fortunate to be able to visit Moody AFB on the Friday before the airshow weekend. That afternoon the event was being prepared and some of the practice displays flown. As I have just set up a Flickr account following the well publicised debacle with Photobucket I thought I'd try out my first photo sharing experience at the new site. Moody AFB near Valdosta Ga. is home to the 347th Wing, a composite CSAR Wing equipped with HC-130J, HH-60G , the venerable A-10C and more recently the A-29 Super Tucano. Here's a taster of what was there at the 2017 Open House starting with the home team. A-10C 78-0647/FT of 76 FS Specially marked A-10C 78-0597/FT wearing the sqn mks of all the assigned Moody Thunderbolt II squadrons and with fins harking back to the European 1 cam scheme. The home team with a P-51D AAR demo from a newly delivered HC-130J assigned to the 71 RQS with an HH-60G from 41 RQS. The 81 FTS has recently reformed at Moody to train Afghan aicrews using the A-29 Super Tucano like this example 15-2025 Hope these are of interest and that the Flick sharing has worked! Simon382
Some great pics so thanks for sharing. I like the two A10's with the P51, makes you wonder which had to slow for the other to maintain formation!?!

Thanks everyone else for the kind comments and likes - much appreciated! Mark
