Just started a fun build of a Revell 1/72 Sopwith F-1 Camel and going to try and upgrade it a bit with Airwaves.. A couple of photo's of the kit and what Ive done up to now.Its g.oing to be fun and games,Unless it goes in the bin. Im still trying to get the hang of all of this kit making.

I built this kit way back in 2006. Hand painted. I must say bi-planes are tricky. you cannot paint it with the top wing on, so it must be painted seperately, and i also decided to rig it with clothes thread as i was constructing it and it was very difficult to do so.

Im hoping to rig it with tread.. So by what you are saying it will be quit fun.

I built one of these earlier this year. Even with many years experience, it's a tricky build, especially cutting and fitting the cabane and interplane struts. I glued the interplane struts to the lower wing first from memory, and let it set. Then the following day, turned the model over and attached the top wing. The cabane struts were fitted after the interplane struts had fully set. It turned out well in the end, but it was hard work!

Thats is how I did mine, but only left it a couple of hours to set.

Well the decals on. Messed up a bit with one of the D and Tail fin. I live and learn to be more careful with them. So a coat of varnish. Then leave for awhile to do the riging tread. So I can carry on with my spitfire I said about when I joined.

You'll get there. As I said before, it's a tricky kit. It's small and looks fairly simple, but it's fiddly and fragile, and even though I've been building for 45 years, it was still a challenge for me.

I dont think I've 45 years to get to the high standered you have. I'm 67 now so 45 years time I think I will be pushing the daises up or my eyes and fingers not up to the job.
