Thompson Brothers refueling tender

Recommended Posts

Scratch-built, with decals from Arctic Decals of Finland.

There were several models and modifications.

I scratched this model a few months ago, posting some images of it still without decals here in Britmodeller in the "British Heinkel" post:

Fabulous looking little thing.

I've only ever seen them in B & W photographs.

I have to wonder how much fuel one of them could carry.

There must be an engine in there too?

Presumably it burned aviation fuel, or you'd need another fuel tank too.

Having seen your diminutive DH53 and Parnall Pixie how about the Miles Satyr, I can supply a 1/72 plan.

Hi en-avant:

there is plenty of info online, including 3-views, no need to post or send anything.

It looks fun, if a bit too airplany for my sometimes odd taste.

Will have a look and see what's there in terms of more vivid decorations. I already found a checkered one that looks tempting (although surely not easy to paint).

May be we should open a new thread under "Miles Satyr".

Cheers
