Etienne
Hello gents, in addition to the RTR Chally, here is my second Challenger 2 ... this one from the Scots Dragoon Guards deployed under KFOR mandate in Kosovo during year 2000. DAG058
Excellent work once again! How did you add the dried mud/dust effect to the side skirts and running gear?
Badder
Superb work again Etienne. What make is this kit? What did you use for the aerials? Can we have a full frontal and full rearal photo please? For a moment I thought that red 'splodge' on the side was a desert rat! What is it, actually? Sorry, lots of questions! Hi, thanks for your comment For the dust on the side armor, I used lightly misted acrylic paint and then dry pigments to give some texture (but not enough to my liking) and for the wheels, I used a pigments slurry (same pigments + water) and after it dried, I removed the excess with a stiff brush and cotton buds, then a light coat of matt varnish to fix it all... 48 minutes ago, Badder said: Superb work again Etienne. What is it, actually? Thanks Badder ... the Chally is build from a Trumpeter enhanced armor Challenger, with the added armor from the KFOR kit. Some kit bashing to have an accurate KFOR Chally and the Clansman aerials are made from carbon fiber rods sold by Accurate Armor (for Bowman aerials on the Salisbury Chally, I used .5mm styrene rod because those aerials have a bigger diameter). For the photos, I can do some if you're not to in a hurry ... Last point : the red "splodge" is a desert rat indeed ... not to visible on a dark background, but still a desert rat Cheers, E Edited November 13, 2017 by Etienne 1
Badder
1 hour ago, Etienne said: the red "splodge" is a desert rat indeed Ooops. Silly me. In the words of CATCHPHRASE, 'Say what you see!' 1 hour ago, Etienne said: aerials are made from carbon fiber rods Cool, carbon fibre is THE best material for aerials, I think. Very straight, strong, but flexible. You can accidentally knock them, bend them and they don't snap. I get my carbon fibre from Angler's pole floats. Well, MY old pole floats. Dunno how much you pay for yours but ask around your angling friends and see if they have any old carbon pole floats they don't want? I expect they'd give them for free. I have chall 1 Tamiya 1/35 and duo Chall. 2 Trumpeter Yugo war and Telic 7, No. model 01522. ? They have or have had a Chall.2 anti slip. Or just a fine surface. Only a fine anti-slip surface is visible in some places ? On sloping armor for turret. Very THx, GL days in may. Edward.
