Julien
Looking at the Eduard set for these in the instructions it shows one, or two mounted on the canopy (round type mirrors). I cant recall seeing two mounted, has anyone seen this? Also was there a standard for these? or was it very much pilot choice as I see a lot of pics with none mounted? Thx Julien
GordonM
I believe it was pilot choice. I’ve got a set of decals (iirc Tar Heel the mount of Claiborne Kinnard Jr) which states it was fitted with two RAF round type mirrors. I’ve also seen several photographs in Roger Freeman books with two mirrors. www.littlefriends.co.uk has dozens of P51 photos to go through for choices of single or twin mirrors fitted to aircraft.
