Henschel Hs 123 A-1 Yellow L - GASPATCH MODELS 1/48 - walkaround

This is my quite recently finished 121st build. It is "out of the box" with only a few improvement as you may see in the WIP topic here:

It took me just 6 months to build which is quite a record since I have a 10 months old infant.

Fortunatelly the Gaspatch kit was easy to built and all the detail was there.

Warning, pic heavy topic so bare with me or enjoy:

This Henschel Hs-123 really looks outstanding and very well detailed; it's a masterpiece.

Congratulations.

Curiously I am on the verge to begin the assembly of the Italeri kit of the Hs-123, which looks a little more basic.

I have heard that this kit is a re-edition of another kit which is a re edition of another kit and so on ...

It doesn't look that bad so I would give it a chance.

Of course it will not look so beautiful as yours.

What can I say? I finally found someone who I can blame for buying that beautiful kit. ^_^

The weathering blends perfectly into the paint scheme, the construction is clean and flawless. With a ten months old kid around this is a remarkable achievement.

Congratulations!

I am sorry to disappoint you but the Italeri kit is a lot more basic than this one. I know because I have built the ESCI kit, which was the first one in 1/48th. It could not have been any different because the two kits are separated by decades of technology improvement in injection kit manufacturing. Italeri, Revell and even Tamiya, they all used the same ESCI molds daring not to manufacture new (and apparently more accurate) ones like Gaspatch did.

I'm currently building one of those. Not only is it very basic, a lot of it is wrong, the cockpit for instance is a complete work of fiction. It was supposed to be a mojo boost but has ended up as a mojo mauler. If you are happy for something looks a bit like a 123 or are happy to do a lot of scratch building, then great.

You have done a stunning job on yours @vags, and thank you, yours is the build I have been basing my build on – to try and get it to look a bit accurate than it otherwise would have.

OK I 'll try to build that very wrong Italeri, Esci, and a lot other brands Henschel 123.

I don't know, but the external lines of the aircraft look very authentic, don't they?

I will absolutely give him a try.

Maybe we could be surprised?
