Me 262 and Gloster Meteor F.1 - not a dogfight double

Hi All,

My Shelf of Shame is actually a Coffee Table of Shame - and it's very full.  So to get as many as possible from the Coffee Table of Shame to the Shelf of Honour I think doing them in pairs might help (ignoring the fact that I still have other GBs in progress).  So here's the first duo (more to follow I hope).

Revell's Me 262 - a very good kit, except for the canopy which is awful - it doesn't look right at all.  But there is a vac-form replacement and that's what I'm going to use.

... and Cyber-Hobby's Meteor F.1.  A very good kit but it needs some work on the the elevators - a bit of filling and scribing.

So - I have to finish off two other builds first and then I can crack on with these.

Dave.

Hi All,

Now the Radial Engine GB is finished I'm ready to get work on these.

The mottling didn't work out quite as I had envisioned, but hey-ho.

Next job will be priming the Meteor and putting the undercarriage on the 262.

Good progress Dave.

That's a lovely satin finish on the black primer.  May I ask what paint you used please?  I have a need (in the Starfighter STGB)!

Thanks

Cliff

Hi Cliff,

The primer is Citadel Chaos Black.  It's from Games Workshop, I only started using it since there are virtually no model shops in London anymore (except of course that one near the RAF Museum - but that's on the wrong side of London for me) and it was all I could get hold of.  But it is very good, it almost seems a shame to have to paint over it.

Hi All,

It's been slow going but they're almost finished.

I'll do a bit more work here and there and a bit of weathering -(if I've got time) and after erm... four years? in the making, I'll call it done.
