Army_Air_Force
I built this Monogram Starfury around 1998/99 from one of the special addition kits, but only recently got around to taking some decent photos against a black screen. Once I had those pictures, I was able to select the black sky and delete it, pasting the Starfury onto some of my astronomy deepsky photographs ( another of my hobbies! ). The colour scheme chosen was based on a model of a model! Back in 1998, I was flying a 1/6 scale R/C P-47 Thunderbolt with 5th Emergency Rescue Squadron markings on it. That inspired a 1/72 P-47 in the same scheme as the R/C version, and that in turn inspired the Starfury colours. Starfury and M31, the Andromeda Galaxy IC405 Flaming Star Nebula M45 The Pleiades, or Seven Sisters NGC7039 Open Cluster and here's the R/C and plastic P-47's that inspired the scheme.
Pete in Lincs
Very cool indeed. It's a big old universe to be alone in a tiny little spaceship!

Will Vale
That's a great mapping of the scheme onto the Starfury's shape, the chevrons really suit it. W
