I've used AKAN's AN11 and AN44.
And now I've seen one of the advantages of acrylics.
I did two coats of each colour last night, and with my normal Humbrol it would have taken at least four evenings.
And with Xtracolor or WEM/Sovreign it would have taken even longer.
So I guess I'll convert to acrylics, and I really like AKAN's colours.

I'll done some more painting tonight, and then some clear coat.
And perhaps that means that I'll start with the decals this weekend.

To be continued.....

Hej Bosse!

Those colours look very good. The brown is clearly one of the "lighter" (and brighter) variations. I guess you took the photos using artificial light given slightly orange hue. Each and every Finnish MiG had completely different camouflage pattern. Imagine how interesting it would be to have five of them on the shelf.

I remember reading (or hearing) that AKAN paints are actually made here in Finland at Tikkurila paint factory and then delivered to AKAN for distribution. Does someone know?

Kind Regards,

Antti

Thanks / Kiitos Antti.  :D

The "brown" is actually called "Black" on the bottle.

But it's more antracit than coal black.

Yes, the pictures was taken with artificial lights, and flash on my mobile.

Not much daylight these days, hey?

I don't know if I'd like five Finnish Bis on the shelf, but I might do a recce one someday.

And you're absolutely right about that AKAN paints are manufactured in Finland.

very nice!

did you ever think of investing into an airbrush?

Thanks Werner  :D

Yes I have,  but since we're living in an apartment I don't have  a space for an airbrushing place other than the balcony. And this time of the year that's not an option.  :cold:

And unfortunately this is how far I got.
Life and workload took away to much time for me to be able to finnish this before the Centenary Indepence Day.

This is how far I got.

I got the ejection seat, canopy and half a pitot tube left to do.
And I'll not be able to finnish it tonight due to the office Christmas Party this evening.
So it'll be a few days late to the finish line.

To be continued.....
