I have just found this, I do not know if this has been posted before but it is a great idea for a great ship, however they are way short of the target.

It all sounds very nice, I did a two-year deployment on her, but these things very rarely come to anything.  We had HMS Plymouth and HMS Onyx, both Falklands veterans, but a viable base could not be found for either and they both ended up being scrapped.  If they can't find locations and funding for two little ships then I think this is unfortunately a non-starter for something as large as a carrier.  They haven't even reached 10% of the required start-up funds and only have three days left to get the rest.

Hmm looks like the Falklands will get some money.

Sadly just keeping a 60 year old ship afloat might be a bit too much.I cant imagine the material state is too good plus its an environmental nightmare.

Still perhaps they can crowdfund for the curent RN RM....things aint smellin of roses.
