robgizlu
Hugely impressive - I love that paint job and expertly done! Rob
Killingholme
So the Hobbyboss kit doesn't include moulded on porthole rigols, or did you remove them? If the former, it's a bit disappointing, because their other kits do. That, and the fact I certainly don't have the patience to spend a few nights adding them individually! Michael M
Thanks gentlemen, thats not over yet. There's two more layers of plating above what's done to be painted on . As for the porthole rigols its nice monotonous job that doesn't involve thinking... my favourite type The ones over the portholes do not come moulded and the ones obove the 'doors' I shaved off, they were kinda thick.
Michael M
Now, enough of time wasting Time to move into black counter-offensive and then to colours... That's what it all was about... more-less Vive la Republique
Michael M
Bottom colour and plating test on my lab bottle Now time to transfer that onto the hull. Thanks for watching Mick
Kris B
That is mad. Are you masking every single piece for spraying?
Michael M
Yup Top and bottom are long pieces going along the streak, short ones are just movable pieces of masking tape and paper mask, protecting from over spray. One at a time and then move along. Hull is started, I can take some pictures of stages of the process if anyone is interested. Cheers Mick

Michael M
Off we go then: Phase I on one streak, first from the keel: With the colour used: Movable masks in place: Phase II: With the colour used: With masking off, Phase III won't happen until the whole underwater part of the hull won't reach Phase II stage.... so more less 2-3 weeks ahead Thanks for watching Mick

Michael M
Well things weren't very spectacular in my dock lately, mask spray, mask spray and so on. Fortunately green is nearing to the end and other colours cover only less than a half or the remaining hull Here with the loooooooooooooooooooong term project, which I started more less at the same time as the Z-39, it was just hibernated like Han Solo Edited March 8, 2018 by Michael M
