Steve Coombs
I've got my hands on a Meng F-102A XX wing kit, and very nice it looks in the box too. However, the instructions call for a red/white striped pitot tube (or, at least, for most of its length). Any handy hints on how to achieve this without placing my eyesight and sanity at too great a risk?
Corsairfoxfouruncle
You could try cutting thin strips of decal ? If not that thin strips of tape then paint the red. Remove when done ?
Steve Noble
You can buy pre-cut red decal stripes, I forget the brand. Then simply paint the white and apply the red decals.

TheRealMrEd
The decal sheets pointed to have a carrier film over the entire surface, meaning they need to be trimmed their entire length. While admittedly mine are quite old, they tend to break apart a lot, requiring additional decal film to be added to the sheet. Also, they then become so thick that they don't like to bend around small diameter things! Perhaps a newer sheet might work better. Also, they do work fine on larger diameters, such as fuselage turbine warning stripes... Ed

I have the xtradecal stripes which were bought last year and each stripe is individual and printed by microscale so very thin and flexible. As good as you are going to get. TheRealMrEd
That's good news, Tony! I may have to buy some newer ones. I have them in various colors (all old) and they can be quite useful. Ed
